Frequently Asked Questions
At Divergent Recovery Center, we understand that recovery is a deeply personal journey, and you might have a lot of questions about what to expect. We’re here to provide clear answers to help you make an informed decision for yourself or your loved one. Our program is built around your needs, offering the tools, support, and accountability necessary for lasting recovery. Below, you’ll find answers to some of the most common questions we receive from residents and their families.
How long does the recovery program last?
Our program is designed to meet your individual needs and typically lasts 6 to 12 months. It is divided into three phases: Stabilization, Building Foundations, and Independent Living Preparation. The length of each phase depends on your progress, ensuring you’re fully prepared for life after recovery.
Will I have access to my family during the program?
Yes, but family visits are structured to support your recovery. In the first 30 days, we ask residents to focus on stabilization. After that, as you progress through the phases, family contact and visits are gradually reintroduced, supporting family reunification while prioritizing your healing.
What makes Divergent Recovery Center different from other recovery programs?
We are one of the few programs that specialize in serving justice-involved individuals and underserved communities. Our trauma-informed care, peer mentorship from Certified Peer Specialists, and support for Medication-Assisted Treatment (MAT) set us apart. We don’t just focus on sobriety—we address the emotional, legal, and practical challenges you face on the road to recovery.
Will I be able to work while in the program?
Yes. Employment is an important part of your recovery. We encourage residents to find jobs, especially in the later phases of the program. We also provide life skills workshops to help you prepare for job readiness and financial independence after you leave the program.
What kind of support will I receive after completing the program?
Our program includes extensive exit planning and support to ensure your long-term success. Before completing the program, you will create a comprehensive plan, establish a network of supporters, and develop relapse prevention strategies. We stay connected with you after you leave, offering continued support as you transition to independent living.
Can I continue taking my Medication-Assisted Treatment (MAT) during the program?
Yes, we are one of the few recovery centers that fully support MAT. We work with you to ensure medication compliance while integrating it into your overall recovery plan. Daily check-ins are part of our approach to ensure you stay on track.
How do you help residents prevent relapse?
Relapse prevention is a key focus of our program. Together with our staff, you will develop a personalized relapse prevention plan that identifies triggers, risk factors, and coping strategies. This plan is your roadmap for staying sober long after you leave the program.
What happens if I face legal issues while in recovery?
We work closely with accountability courts, probation officers, and legal representatives to ensure you meet court requirements while focusing on your recovery. We are experienced in helping justice-involved residents navigate these challenges and keep their recovery on track.
What kind of therapy do you provide for trauma?
Our trauma-informed care approach is designed to help you heal from past experiences that contribute to addiction. We offer individual counseling and group therapy sessions that focus on addressing the root causes of trauma while building resilience and emotional strength.
What will my life look like after completing the program?
When you successfully finish the program, you’ll have a strong foundation for independent living. You will have healed emotionally, developed key life skills, and created a robust support network. Many of our residents reunite with their families, secure employment, and maintain a stable, sober lifestyle. You’ll leave equipped with the tools to continue your recovery journey, confident in your ability to build a better future.
