Meet Paula
Paula Montgomery, the heart of Divergent Recovery Center, brings over 25 years of lived experience in addiction and recovery. As a Certified Addiction Recovery Empowerment Specialist (CARES) and Certified Peer Specialist, Paula has dedicated her life to helping others break free from the cycle of addiction. Her personal journey inspires the compassionate and structured environment we offer at Divergent.

With decades of combined experience in addiction recovery and mental health, our team members bring both professional expertise and personal insight, many having walked the path of recovery themselves.

Samantha Presley
Samantha Presley serves as the Women’s Center Program Manager at Divergent Recovery Center, where her passion for recovery and extensive experience in peer support make her a driving force in the lives of the women she serves. In long-term recovery since April 2016, Samantha is also a proud mother to her child, Lillian, who is a Certified Peer Specialist for Youth (CPS-Y) and has lived experience with mental health challenges. This personal connection has deepened Samantha’s understanding of the importance of mental health and recovery.
Samantha brings over eight years of personal and professional experience to her role. Her own journey, which includes a history of incarceration, has given her a deep understanding of the challenges faced by justice-involved individuals seeking recovery. She has worked in peer recovery spaces for several years, with a particular focus on supporting individuals participating in Medication-Assisted Treatment (MAT).
Samantha holds multiple certifications, including Certified Alcohol and Drug Counselor (CADC-I), Certified Peer Specialist in Addictive Disease (CPS-AD), Forensic Peer Mentor (FPM), and Medication-Assisted Treatment Specialist (MATS). A vocal recovery advocate, she is deeply committed to helping others find hope and healing through recovery.
In her spare time, Samantha enjoys spending quality time with her family and her loving partner, Idye. Her dedication to empowering women and her unwavering belief in the power of recovery make her an invaluable part of the Divergent Recovery Center team.

Billy Mounce
Billy Mounce serves as the CEO of Divergent Recovery Center, bringing a unique and heartfelt perspective to his role. While Billy does not have lived experience with addiction, his passion for recovery stems from his involvement in the recovery process of his wife, Paula Mounce. Through witnessing her journey, Billy developed a deep commitment to supporting others in their recovery, particularly in the area of family reunification, which he views as a vital component of long-term healing.
Billy’s leadership in the men’s program is driven by his dedication to helping individuals rebuild their lives and strengthen their family connections. He believes that recovery is not just about overcoming addiction but also about repairing and nurturing the relationships that are central to personal well-being.
In his spare time, Billy enjoys spending quality time with his family and his wife, Paula, cherishing the bonds that recovery has helped restore. His passion for supporting families and his strong connection to the recovery community make him an invaluable leader at Divergent Recovery Center.

Christopher Slette
Christopher Slette serves as the Men’s Center Program Manager at Divergent Recovery Center, bringing a strong sense of service to his work. In recovery for the past three years, Christopher is deeply committed to helping others on their own recovery journeys. His dedication comes from his personal belief in giving back as an act of service.
Currently, Christopher is working toward obtaining his Certified Peer Specialist in Addictive Disease (CPS-AD) certification and aspires to become a certified addiction counselor, further expanding his ability to support others.
In his free time, Christopher enjoys riding motorcycles and working on his cars, finding joy in both the road and the garage. His hands-on approach to life and recovery makes him an inspiring and committed leader at Divergent Recovery Center.
